Tis the season....

It is the time of year when it's not so cold that I won't even go out side, but it's still cold. Everything is wet from melting snow, anything dirt is mud, anything paved is sand. Indoor Park time. DG has heavy sessions at Rad skatepark two or three times a week and for the past two weeks we have gone to Shrewsbury for the Tuesday night ride. Our trip to Rays is coming up soon, and then hopefully it will be time to get back outside and enjoy the springtime air. Here's a few pics from last night!
The crew left to right.  Nick, Jon le, Dan, Justin, Adam.   Super fun time with these guys, Adam destroyed himself in the bowl, old man style.  Nothing some stitches won't fix
Some things never change....  Tables and manuals for days......
Dan gettin sideways, and not with alcohol this time.
Jon Le did this whip at speed for Burns' BMX shop.  They got a good deal brewing and I hope to do alot of good things together.

Here's the memories for your great trip....

The winter blues have caught up with me, it's been a month since we got home.  The shop is moving along, but it is still quieter than the summer days when everyone stops in for a few and tells you about where they were or where they are going.  I am open 3 hours less a day and somehow the days seem longer.  As I sit and struggle a bit to pay off shit, I think if I never went on this trip I wouldn't be where I am now.  I could be not stressing about money and just chilling.  The thing is, I spend these long days thinking about the trip, my best of friends, the very best of times.  It's worth it to struggle now, cause although I know how much I spent on the trip, you can't put a price on it.   One more huge Thanks to Joe, to Sam, to Dan, to AMC, and to Justin, for making it possable for me to do what I do.    Here's a few more of my favorite pics from the iPhone.

Here's a quick vid of the Oregon coast line, only like 10 hours of views like this before we hit endless California views. California views were almost the same minus the guard rails.
All packed up and headed back east, good times.

End of the road(trip) Days 15/16/17

Upon arrival to Austin, we went straight to House Park.  Met up with Hennessey there and he took us for a tour of the city.   For me, it was amazing to see all the BMX history that is Austin.  9th street, the church gap, the gap Geoff Slattery did, the curved ledge, and so much more....   Henney def. hooked us up with a good time and it was a perfect close to an already amazing trip.
Our hostess with the mostess, Erik Hennessey, roasting more than just breakfast at 9th street.
Dog pisser on the one hitter at 9th street
House park, super fun, endless possibilities, and nice ass people.
I forget the name of this place but Henny took us here one morning to shred for a bit.
5hip ditch, Dan, Sam, and Joe were having a blast on this thing.  Here Dan grinds a bit to over into the bank.
This was sweet, a quick stop on our way across the street.
Closed out the day with this spot on the other side of the road from 5hip, double pegger in the sunset.

Phoenix to Austin, Days 13,14

Woke up on Monday morning the 13th of Jan to bring AMC to the airport and then start driving towards Austin.  We headed back up through Flagstaff and over to Albuquerque NM. We hit some more nasty winter weather during the drive, then it would change back to sun and cactus and desert and then in Albuquerque it was back to snow.  We got a hotel for night and then Continued in the AM.

Stopped at the Painted Desert again for a quick look.  I took a trip years back with an ex girly girl of mine across the country and we stopped here, I thought it was really cool.   I told Hennessey about it cause he was traveling that way. He sent me a post card of himself in this same spot thumbs down.  It's hanging in my office still.  I still think it is amazing to see miles of smooth colored rock, would be a sweeet edit if you could get out there and ride.   Worth the stop if your traveling on 40, it's one minute off the highway and only takes a few minutes to see the 4 or 5 view points.
Day 14 was mostly driving once again, Texas brought us lots of nothing.  Long flat roads.  "Nothing to see here."

We stopped at the famous Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo. This was really cool to see. Dan was supposed to help me navigate on this trip while I drove everywhere. So since that wasn't happening I took the ol IPad and started looking it up, since we were in Amarillo I figured we needed to find where it was. Just as I am reading aloud, "It says we should be able to see it from the highway" Dan shouts out, "YOU MEAN THOSE CARS RIGHT THERE!!!" We were passing it as I was looking it up, I swerved just in time to make the exit. That was pretty much the extent of Dans Navigation on this trip. lots of "You need to take a right coming up.... no you just passed it." Thanks Dan!!! You can not navigate anytime still buddy.
"We out here" and it's cold.....

Day 12, Phoenix

First stop in the morning was Chandlier park. This place was amazing, so fun to ride, I didn't really take any pics cause I was too busy pumping around perfect transitions!!!

Table top action!!!

I didn't even bow the legs for this one!!! X-up in the Arizona sun.

After three or so hours at the park we headed towards Camelback Mountain. We were super unprepared to do this, no water, two hours before sunset, AMC has slippers on. We went about half way taking diversions at every interesting spot, and there were a lot. It is seriously beautiful there.

Group pic #2145

Sam repelled down, this shit was steep.

AMC at sunset.

Enjoying another sunset, never gets old.

In and Out burger, so good. Back to the hotel and the hot tub!!!

After the Grand Canyon, we drove towards Phoenix.
We stopped at the Flinstones campground for this sweeet groupy. Got into Flagstaff and hoteled it up, hot tubs and pool outside st midnight, it was a sweeet time.

Drove to phoenix in the morning, got our hotel just one block from the Stadium. SUPERCROSS TIME!!!

Here's a little vid I put together with a few clips from the iPhone....

Justins summer blues.

Since we are all missing the nice weather, I figured I would show you some fun times in this winter reality.   Here's a little vid I made of Justin getting gnar on the 10" at Dayville park.

VIDEO GOES PUBLIC AT 2 PM 2/14/13

Day10, sights to see......

Started Day 10 off at Hoover Damn. It's cool to see for sure. You can still drive over it but you have to turn around and go back and take the new bridge to continue on the highway, and thats what we did after taking a few pics there.

Isn't it grand? Hells yeah it is, the grand canyon. It was super cold here. Def. need to go here when it is a better weather wise so you can take time to see what it has to offer. Truly one of the most amazing places in the country.

Day 9, VEGAS!!!!

We drove to Vegas to get AMC from the airport, we had a few hours in the morning so we went to this huge park, very empty, spend most of the morning riding the small stuff and I snapped this one photo. Then we picked up AMC and started touring Vegas!!

We went to the sign and to the Pawn Stars shop... Then we went up in the stratosphere.

It was super windy up top, but we took a few photos and then a beer or two in the rotating bar.
This is inside Ceasors Palace, the cieling was done so well it felt like you were outside the whole time.

We walked around Vegas well into the night and then made the trip to see the Hoover Damn at night. It was real dark so you couldn't really see shit. haha Hotel time and Damn in the am I guess....

Long Beach and more, Day 8

We woke up and headed over to the LBCity park.  A skate plaza type park, super fun, I could have rode that place all day, when we pulled in,  the park was basically empty,  there was a small sesh going with some pretty heavy hitter BMX dudes.  They were super nice, asking us about our trip and just out having fun riding kids bikes....
This is my favorite trick to do right now, all summer long it has been a nose jam game for me....
Joe is on his whip game, sizing up those pro guys....   hahahaha   I didn't take as many pics as i thought, tooo busy riding I guess.

After the park we drove a few minutes down the highway to Santa Ana, home of S&M and Fit bikes.

Sean Mckinney is my rep and a madman!!! We had a ton of fun checking out the place. It is the cleanest machine shop I have ever been in.

This is the entrance into S&M/Fit. BMX through and through....

Here are some frames mid production, the shop was amazing to see and crazy to see how clean it is since they make like 4800 frames and 18,000,000 bars a year there. GOOD STUFF. Big Thanks to Sean for hookin it up!!!!
