SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY

Small Business Saturday.   Today is the day where you can make a difference in a small business owners life by simply buying a product from them instead of a big box chain or franchise.   The simple act of buying from a local shop or eating at a local restaurant actually has a great impact not only on that business, but the local economy as a whole.    

On average, that dollar you spend locally, will be spent IN TOWN  up to 7 times again, while the dollar you spend at Lowmart will be shipped out of state that day.   Your local businesses are the backbone of the community. 

These business owners support and in many cases put on the town events that the big money box stores will not take part in.   

So today, while your out doing whatever it is you are doing, direct your route to a local, independently owned business, spend your money where it does some good for another member of your community.  

Avoid the strip mall, warehouse, grumpy employees at those greedy big stores and come get some down home, feel good, THANKFULL products from us, your local business owners. 

I can say first hand that after being on Main street for 13 years,    when the door to shop opens, I am excited and so grateful for every sale we make.   Your purchases here truly make an impact on me and my business and I appreciate every hard earned dollar spent here.  I am sure all the shops on this street and every Main street feel the same.

NEW FALL DG APPAREL!!!

I am super pumped on these new items for Fall!!
First up is the "Chillers" tee, this is a pic from our 2012 trip across the west coast. Sam Jones, Dan, Joe Lussier, and Myself sitting on the edge of Camel Back mtn, in Pheonix Az. AMC took the pic, it is one of my favorite pics from such an epic trip with the best of friends. This photo really says what BMX is all about to me, we went on a trip to ride bikes, but ultimately ended up having way more time just chilling and hanging out even forgetting about riding most of time. Chills, not skills. Limited run of 10 in each size and these are $20 each. The best tee ever!!!

Buttery brook Jam is tomorrow!!!

Here is the deal. Did you ever wish you had a skatepark in your town that had everything in it you ever wanted to ride?? Well, the guys over at FatTrax went ahead and built themselves a park on some land donated by the town. Thing is, the town made them move the park. So they moved it, re-built it, and it was better than the first one. Thing is, the town made them move it again and after the town did this a 3rd, maybe even 4th time, Buttery Brook is now rebuild bigger and better on a brand new permanent area constructed specifically for the park. This place has everything, do you flow around doing endless lines and using new ramp transfer condos?? This is the place for you. Do you nib jib around on small flat rails and grind ledges, this is the place for you. Anyway you ride there is stuff for you here. All built DIY style and mostly out of pocket. The town did chip in this past year and get some lumber and other needed supplies but you get the point. It's always more satisfying riding ramps built by the riders themselves.

So tomorrow is the Jam, it's ten bucks and the cash goes right back into the park for some tarps to cover the place over the winter and if enough of you go, they can add on a few more fun things to ride. Do your good deed for the day, support local shops and parks by riding your BMX with your friends at Buttery Brook skatepark!!

NEJC is this weekend!!!!!!

NEJC is this weekend and I apologize for being out of the shop and not posting anything. I am getting this event ready to go!!! We will be back with normal business hours on Wed. of next week.
This is the ;arrest BMX event in New England and the second largest BMX specific event in the country and it's happening here in your hometown of Danielson Ct. FBM month at DG, the wall is complete!!!

DG/FBM frames are here!!!!!!

FBM went ahead and made us some collab frames with a custom color way of trans brown and some custom DG/FBM graphics from the Cradallman himself.   We have 2 Hardway frames and 2 Bellwitch frames that are just amazing!!  We also have trans brown US Apes and Blag Flag bars. I am super pumped on how these came out and if you now me at all, you know FBM runs deep in the blood of DG.  Sooooo psyched this happened. Thanks will be given many times over this one!!!  Check em out!!!

Matt Barchus Benefit Jam

Javaun(WOOO WOOO WOOO HEWWWWWWWW!!!!)Crane-Bonnel put together this sweet event for everyones good friend Matt Barchus to help him out with some mounting medical bills.  

Matt was one of the first DG riders back in the day when the shop opened.  I always thing of Matt airing out the quarters at the old Willi park mini ramp right after he came home from Woodward and being insanely jealous.  Hahaha  I took Matt with us on the first big DG road trip to Louisville back in 03, with Buckler, and a bunch of awesome dudes.  Anyways, we go back a bit so yeah……..
   
 Everyone is over the top helping out and it will surely be a fun time.

Also I have shirts with the flyer Jeff Martin made on it for sale for 20 bucks.  The whole 20 goes to Matt on the 22 shirts I made for the Jam.  If anyone wishes to have a tee after we sell out I will be taking money on a per order basis over the next two weeks, then printing the shirts one final time.   I will be donating the proceeds(profits after cost of shirts) to Matt on those per-order tees.

August is CULT month at DG!!!

I have been waiting for this one! Cult, one of those brands that is a sure stand out in the BMX world. Grass roots BMX, one of best teams out there. This brand is just the kind of brand I want to push in DG!! Robbie and the crew just know how to do it. I'm psyched Cult wanted to be a part of the year of Daily Grind!!! Animal shop party!!!

Animal party was a blast. The street set up was super fun and although I was too busy having a good time to take a bunch of pics, if you were here, you know all about it.

Kyle took a few tries at this but it was all worth it.

Always fun to hang with Lino. It started about when he was 13 or so and even though now we don't ride together as much, it's a quality good time when we do get to catch up.

Bunch of new younger kids rid in at this one. Awesome!

New Sam Jones Edit!!

JOSH FOISY and Sam put in some work for over a year (ok, really it was like a few trips but Sam can't get out to Boston often so it took a bit) to get this edit together and it is pure Sam Jones. Peg chinks, tire slides, techy peg combos, and just good ol everyday fun riding. Josh is the man for putting up everyone at his place in Boston for the weekends. I am so pumped on this!!! Give it a watch and then watch it again.
